Chapter Seventeen

MARK

The following morning, I woke up to the amazing feeling of Rufus’s warm body close behind me as he placed gentle kisses on my shoulder. “That’s good,” I murmured. He moved even closer, and it became obvious just how good he felt as the smooth heat of his cock pressed against my arse.

This time was warm and languorous. He was wrapped around me from behind, his hand roaming over my chest, detouring to my cock now and then, and he was kissing my neck as he pushed inside me in a slow, steady rhythm that left me breathless with need. He’d spent a long time working me open first, and though my body was impatient, my brain was glad. We’d got a bit carried away the previous night, and I was probably going to be feeling it for a while. It didn’t stop me wanting more of the same.

My orgasm felt as if it would never end. It was fantastic sex, but more than that, I was so comfortable with him, as if we’d been doing this forever.

Afterwards, he fell asleep again. Though I could stay here all morning, looking at him, my stomach was grumbling, and I was desperate for a coffee. I slid out of bed quietly, so as not to disturb him, and picked up the navy towelling robe thrown over the back of one of the chairs in the room.

As I belted it, I took the opportunity to look around. It was a large room, with an old-fashioned fireplace surrounded by patterned tiles, and there was an armchair set before the window. A pile of books was stacked next to it. Later, I’d like to look at what he was reading, but right now, coffee was the priority.

In the kitchen, the state-of-the-art coffee machine defied my best efforts to unravel its mysteries. I was still trying to make sense of all the different controls when an icy sensation crawled up the back of my neck. I wasn’t alone.

I spun around. Instead of doing the sensible thing and running, I snarled at the intruder. “Who the hell are you?”

He was tall, had short brown hair with light streaks running through that could be from sunlight or could be from a particularly expensive hairstylist, and was wearing a sheepskin flying jacket over a henley and jeans. “Who the hell are you is a better question,” he said, his voice deep with a familiar dangerous undertone.

His eyes narrowed as they ran over me, taking in the robe, my bare legs and feet, and his lips twitched. “Oh,” he said. “Now I feel seriously slow. But Rufus… Rufus?”

I stiffened. “I don’t know what you’re insinuating, but you shouldn’t.” The initial shock had worn off and I realised. “Nate, I presume.”

“How come you know about me, and I haven’t heard a whisper about you? What’s your name, by the way?”

“Mark.” He hadn't impressed me so far, but I wasn’t going to piss him off unnecessarily. First time meeting the in-laws didn’t seem like the best time to do that.
